For walk number 2 of 2026 I'm going to try and squeeze the second-last portion of the first project before we close it out on the 12th.
This walk should be pretty chill, I will most likely follow the track through town as far as I can go without being told off by staff or the homeless encampment.
The trains are currently parked at Bendigo station (Ive observed at least 9 V/Locity sets in the yard), due to annual maintenance being conducted on the Bendigo/Swan Hill Lines, finishing March 8th.
Due to travel factors, I will need to see how I go whether I take Rani with me, as I may need to resort to public transport for this walk.

This will be the final walk in the connection to Diggers Rest, with the goal being to have the line complete up until Riddells Creek beforehand.
The plan is to then complete the final 3-town stretch in the same day, finally arriving in Diggers Rest to complete the ~250km journey across Victoria.
DATE: TBD
Distance EST: 18.4km
Duration EST: 4 Hours 8 Mins
I've had ideas for more walks in this area, and I have even had ideas of working my way up to walking from Swan Hill to Nyah West, but that will require some work I think.
However, on a recent visit to my cousins house in Nyah West, I took note of the distance between the historic Lake Boga, and Swan Hill, and very manageable ~15km, (18.4km via farm roads and Swan Hill Airport).
I'm pretty keen to do more walk's in this region, and nice change in terrain, where the land begins flattening out heading up toward Mildura, and when a good mate from high school reached out about potentially joining me on a walk, I thought this one would be a perfect fit for a good catch up and morning or arvo in regional Vic.
